Marcus Conklin

Dear Friends:

I want to take this opportunity to report back to you the results of the survey I sent out earlier this year on critical issues facing our state. I appreciate your taking the time to respond to the survey.

I asked respondents to rank a number of state priorities from the most important to the least important.

“Developing renewable energy in our state to reduce our dependence on foreign oil” and “improving the quality of education so that more students graduate with the skills they need to compete in today’s workforce” tied for the most responses as the number one priority facing our state.

“Making affordable, quality health care more accessible to all Nevadans” received the second most responses as the number one priority facing our state.

“Improving public safety by providing greater protection for senior citizens and children and cracking down on methamphetamine production and use” received the third most responses.

“Enacting ethics reform legislation to restore the public’s confidence in elected officials” received the fourth most responses.

I also provided space for you to tell me the issues of greatest concern to you and your family. The largest number of comments centered on health care, the economy, public safety and education, with a number of people citing immigration, renewable energy, growth-related issues, taxes, transportation and ethics as critical issues.

I am currently sending regular email newsletters on bills passed during the last session of the legislature dealing with these and other issues. If you are not currently receiving these updates, please fill out and submit your information at the Stay Informed area at the top of the page or e-mail me at marcus@conklin4nevada.com and I will make sure you start getting them. If you do not have access to email, but would like to receive them, call me at
(702) 363-3885 and I will send them to you in the mail.

Again, thank you for responding to the survey. Please feel free to contact me any time.

Sincerely,

Marcus Conklin
